More than 2,000 new Canadians signed up to connect with Ottawa's major employers and support services as part of the YMCA’s Opportunities Expo for New Canadians, an event that helps newcomers navigate major immigration challenges. That's a story Sana Belhadad, manager of the YMCA's Newcomer Information Centre, knows personally. Belhadad came to Canada from Morocco, lost her husband and found her resilience in the YMCA's newcomer services.
A spokesperson for the premier's office said the meeting is to focus on issues like trade and the economy, but other leaders expect to discuss the issue of separatism in Alberta.
