AccessAbility Day 2026: Accessible Sport in Action

Ottawa – On Friday, May 29, the City of Ottawa will celebrate AccessAbility Day, marking its 23rd year of recognizing the leadership, contributions, and lived experiences of people with disabilities in our community. AccessAbility Day 2026 will kick off with a friendly pickup wheelchair basketball game at City Hall in partnership with Wheelchair Basketball Canada, bringing together the Mayor, Members of Council and City leadership. 

The event will also feature a keynote panel on inclusive and accessible sport, with national team athletes from Wheelchair Basketball Canada and representatives from SkiAbility and Special Olympics Canada. 

Residents will be able to watch the event on the City of Ottawa’s YouTube channel
