Some Ottawa city councillors are calling for Ontario's fire code to be updated to more heavily regulate indoor storage and charging of e-bikes and other electronic devices because of the risk of battery fires.

Michael Clairoux, 52, had served just over one year of a life sentence when he died Friday at Millhaven Institution. Correctional Service Canada did not disclose the circumstances of his death.
