Supreme Court clarifies trial time limits to avoid having charges dropped over delays

The Supreme Court of Canada dismissed two challenges to the Jordan framework on Friday, ruling that the time limits put on criminal trials before charges be thrown out of court are justified under Section 11(b) of the Charter.
Some politicians say the number of days spent in the legislature doesn't matter too much, because the most important work is done in their constituency offices. Others say less time in legislatures allows provincial and territorial governments to avoid accountability and pass flawed legislation.
