O-Train Line 1 service returns to full capacity on June 8

June 5, 2026
O-Train Line 1 service will return to full capacity beginning Monday, June 8, 2026.

O-Train Line 1 will resume full capacity starting Monday, June 8.

For customers, this means that beginning Monday, June 8:

  • O-Train Line 1 will operate with double-car trains on weekdays.
  • Frequency will be every five minutes during peak periods.
  • On weekends, single-car service will continue.

Restoring Line 1 capacity as safe and quickly as possible has been the top priority of OC Transpo’s Customer-First Action Plan. With an adequate supply of Cartridge Bearing Assembles and advancements made in implementing a condition monitoring system, the number of light rail vehicles available for service has steadily increased and is now stable to allow full double-car service to return.
