Cambridge, Ont., mayor 'stands by' stopping teen's speech at Pride event

Cambridge, Ont.,Mayor Jan Liggett issued a statement on Friday after her office received backlash after the city's Pride flag raising event on Monday. Liggett was seen on video cutting off a teenager who was giving a speech during the event. Liggett says she stopped the teen from saying a part of the speech that hadn't been vetted by city staff.

The strategy launched Monday ties into Ottawa's overall aim to double electricity capacity by 2050, something the government argues requires zero-emission power sources.
