Ford in Washington to promote trade, no plans to meet Trump administration

The premier headed down to the Capitol on Monday and Tuesday for a series of meetings to promote his hopes of increased free trade between Canada and the United States.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that they say will deepen economic ties between the Canadian province and the U.S. state.
Shapiro condemned U.S. President Donald Trump's rhetoric on Canada, calling it 'reckless and disrespectful' and said U.S. tariffs are a threat to both economies.

Culture Minister Marc Miller said 'I'm not going to sit here and pretend today that there is one rapid solution that would have prevented' the Tumbler Ridge, B.C., shooting, 'but I do think this law could have made a difference.'
