Jailed Vancouver developer declared bankrupt after 'history of financial shenanigans'

It's been a rough few weeks for Helen Chan Sun. Last month, one B.C. Supreme Court judge jailed the Vancouver developer for civil contempt. This week, even as Sun remained behind bars, another judge from the same court declared the former multimillionaire bankrupt, paving the way for a trustee to oversee her finances.
Quebec's minister of public security says if the probe doesn't shed full light on the events, he won't rule out the possibility of a public inquiry.

A judge has reserved a decision on whether a transgender inmate being held at a men’s prison, Amanda Cooper, should be moved to a women’s facility. Cooper, 59, has a history of sexual offences against women in Quebec that date back to the 1980s. The crimes were committed when Cooper was living as a man. Cooper has been deemed a dangerous offender and is serving a third federal sentence after a 2001 conviction. While in prison, Cooper underwent gender surgery.
