Civilian system will hear sexual offences previously handled by military police

Military police will no longer accept Criminal Code sexual offence complaints as of Monday, in anticipation of passage of the new military justice system reform bill.

The program, earlier called the Canada Greener Homes Grant program, was first launched by the federal government in 2021, but lapsed in 2024.
