Ottawa Now - OPS Chief calls out 'pattern of inappropriate behaviour' within the police force

June 17, 2026

The Ottawa Police Service has a sexual misconduct problem – and their Chief of Police knows it. Last month, Eric Stubbs issued a very blunt 7-minute video to his officers. In this message that was obtained by CTV Ottawa, he called out a pattern of inappropriate behaviour, and basically told his members that they need to change their behaviour or turn in their badge. Furthermore, the police service wants to recruit more women to its workforce, with a goal of having 30 percent of its sworn members as female officers. OPS Deputy Chief Trish Ferguson joins Kristy Cameron on Ottawa Now.
