As Ottawa police workplace changes emerge, lawyer pans them as 'sideways move'

The Ottawa Police Service is making its safe workplace program more "restorative, support-focused, and member-led" instead of centering it on "formal complaints and investigations," according to a chief's report published online ahead of Monday afternoon's meeting of the Ottawa Police Service Board. But one human rights and labour lawyer who's worked with female Ottawa police officers isn't impressed.
Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and City of Ottawa staff, along with partners at Ottawa Public Health, will provide an update on the City’s storm response.
