Fireworks on Canada Day, and a handful of other holidays, is a tried-and-true tradition. However, when it comes to setting off these explosives, pyrotechnics come with a lot of baggage. For starters, they are very loud. Pets, to nobody’s surprise, hate them. And, as a result, more events are turning to the latest advances in drone technology to put on a good show. This new wave is continuing to develop in Bonnechere Valley Township, as they replace traditional fireworks with a 100-drone light show for this year’s Canada Day celebrations. Council today received an update on the City's response to the July 1 extreme weather event and approved additional measures to support affected residents. Many residents continue to deal with the ongoing impacts of flooding and property damage due to this historic rainfall event.
