A Canadian-American artist from Ottawa has made a 4-foot-tall beaver statue for the United States. It’s part of the Great Beaver Quest – an art installation initiative that honours the countries participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. That statue, however, has been vandalized. Council today received an update on the City's response to the July 1 extreme weather event and approved additional measures to support affected residents. Many residents continue to deal with the ongoing impacts of flooding and property damage due to this historic rainfall event.
