Days after derailment, trains are back on tracks in Repentigny, Que. — and residents are uneasy

Railway operations are resuming in the municipality northeast of Montreal, as crews continue to clean up 45 cargo train cars that derailed Sunday. CN says for now, trains will pass through at slower speeds and will be inspected, but some in the community still feel shaken.

The Canadian government has announced that online passport renewal is now available to all eligible adult Canadians in Canada. The rollout follows a pilot program introduced in December 2024, which previously limited online passport renewals to a maximum of 2,000 applications per day. With the trial now complete, that daily cap has been removed.
