Cottagers and homeowners around Manitoba's Whiteshell Provincial Park are the latest to experience damage from recent storms in the province, as dozens of other communities have declared local states of emergency due to flooding and storms.
June storms in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, along with flooding in the Montreal area, caused more than $1.1 billion in insured damage, the Insurance Bureau of Canada says.
