Joël Lapointe, stumbled upon what he thought looked like a suspicious pit in Quebec's Côte-Nord region while he was wandering with his Google Maps cursor in 2024. But it turned out to be a 390-million-year-old meteor crater — never before identified, until now.
Prime Minister Mark Carney, who is visiting a national park in Newfoundland and Labrador to highlight the Canada Strong Pass, will be skipping the event.
