A group of merchants in the ByWard Market have banded together, calling on the City of Ottawa to backtrack its redevelopment plans for 55 ByWard Market Square. Nearly every single business inside Ottawa’s historic Downtown building has signed a petition, fearing that this blueprint could lead to the eventual evictions of all 17 food and craft businesses – some of which have been operating in that sector for decades. A medal awarded to a high-ranking Royal Canadian Air Force officer is raising questions about this country’s involvement in the U.S.-Israel war with Iran.
