Today’s rising gas prices have many families rethinking their Summer vacation plans – and perhaps pivoting to a shorter road trip. Meantime, the City of Ottawa has just approved a plan to cut development charges by more than half, a vote that was nearly unanimous. Nava Silton, youth director at the Jewish Center, was packing up and readying to leave the Modern Orthodox synagogue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan after running a program for the Jewish fast of Tisha B’Av on Thursday.
