Upcoming recovery and information sessions for residents impacted by the July 1 extreme weather event

Recovery information sessions will continue to run this week, beginning on Monday, July 20.

Recovery information sessions will continue for residents next week starting on Monday, July 20. City staff will be onsite to continue to support residents impacted by the extreme weather event on Wednesday, July 1. 

City staff and its partners, including the Canadian Red Cross, will be present to support the community by answering questions on various topics and providing support related to the extreme weather event and recovery, including:

  • Community health and resource centres
  • Information on counselling and wellness supports
  • Health and safety when cleaning flooded homes
  • Insurance and case management experts
  • Residential Protective Plumbing program and Compassionate Grant program
  • Building code and permitting process
  • Financial assistance and grant programs
  • Waste disposal
Upcoming information sessions:
  • Monday, July 20 at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, from 2 to 6 pm.
  • Tuesday, July 21 at Maki House, 19 Leeming Drive, from 2 to 6 pm.
  • Wednesday, July 22 at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, from 4 to 8 pm.
  • Thursday, July 23 at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, from 2 to 6 pm.
  • Friday, July 24 at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, from 2 to 6 pm.
  • Saturday, July 25 at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, from 10 am to 2 pm.
How to get there

Free public parking is available onsite for those travelling by car to the information sessions. Please note that parking at Maki House is limited.

OC Transpo is a convenient way to reach both Recovery Information Session sites. Please visit the OC Transpo Travel Planner for more information. If you are unable to take conventional transit (buses and O-Train), Para Transpo is available between 6 am and midnight.
