Calgarians are making their way onto the city's rivers after safety advisories dropped. Emergency crews are answering more water rescue calls so far this summer compared to 2025.

The outbreak began in March 2025 and lasted more than a year, with the final reported sicknesses happening in May and caused 200 lab-confirmed cases in six provinces.
