Kashechewan First Nation evacuees await water testing results to return home

Evacuees from Kashechewan First Nation, who have been away from their homes for more than six months, are now awaiting water testing results to learn if it’s safe to return to the fly-in Cree community.

A flight from Victoria, B.C. to Toronto was cancelled on Thursday when a parent and the cabin crew were unable to buckle in a child who refused to sit down. It left the rest of the passengers stranded until another flight on Friday.
