Toronto mayor, local councillors look to ban surveillance pricing in city

Surveillance pricing, where businesses use consumer data to offer different prices based on what they think each individual customer will pay, threatens to gouge Torontonians who are already struggling to afford the cost of living, says Mayor Olivia Chow. She's introducing a motion Monday to see if the city can ban the practice.
The new navy blue uniforms will begin to be worn by front-line officers starting on Aug. 15. Some officers may continue wearing the current grey uniforms for some time, RCMP say.
