First Nation chiefs from northwestern Ontario are calling for a public inquiry into the provincial government’s response to the region's wildfires, which have resulted in more than a dozen evacuations. Gull Bay First Nation’s Chief Wilfred King says “the lack of communication and evacuation support should horrify all Canadians, and our community was on its own.” Here's what First Nation leaders want to see done differently.

An investigative report by the Toronto Police Service (TPS) has found misconduct against five officers after a police-run podcast praised the post–October 7 surge of converts to Islam and was perceived to downplay Hamas support at anti-Israel rallies.
