Peter D. Clark Long-Term Care Home celebrates 25 years

July 24, 2026

Since opening its doors in 2001, Peter D. Clark Long-Term Care Home has proudly been a trusted home for residents, providing compassionate and respectful care for 25 years. As the facility celebrates its 25th anniversary, staff, volunteers, residents and families are reflecting on a quarter-century of service and the strong partnerships that help deliver exceptional care.

This milestone is also an opportunity to recognize the dedication and professionalism of the staff, volunteers and community partners whose contributions enrich the lives of residents every day. One of those dedicated volunteers is Dina Huybregts, who has volunteered at Peter D. Clark for over 20 years.

For Dina, this anniversary is particularly special. “Being part of a team that cares for residents during one of the most precious times in their lives brings me such great pleasure,” she says. “Meeting new faces and being able to serve our community is something I look forward to every week.”

To mark this milestone, City officials, staff, residents, families and volunteers gathered earlier this week for a special anniversary celebration. Event attendees enjoyed a day filled with speeches, laughter and shared memories as they reflected on the home’s history and the people who helped shape it.

The festivities continued in the afternoon with the home’s annual carnival, an event that showcases the vibrant sense of community that has defined Peter D. Clark for the past 25 years. The event featured a time capsule display featuring photos from the home's groundbreaking, opening day and many memorable moments throughout the years. Guests also enjoyed cake, specialty refreshments, plenty of smiles and even a petting zoo as they came together to celebrate this milestone.

As the anniversary celebrations come to an end, Peter D. Clark Long-Term Care Home is already looking ahead to the future. Building on 25 years of caring for residents and supporting families, the home remains committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care and fostering a vibrant community for years to come.
