The senior corrections officer targeted in an alleged murder plot that sparked the Project South investigation denied planting a weapon in the cell of an inmate, as he testified Wednesday in response to that inmate's Charter breach application, which the jail official described as "a further platform to victimize me."
An evacuation order was issued for several streets in downtown Halifax after police located a vehicle they said contained a propane tank and flammable liquid.

A man has been charged in connection with a bomb threat against the U.S. Consulate in Halifax, after a propane tank and several containers believed to contain flammable materials were found inside his vehicle, which was parked nearby.
