A growing number of Ontario MPP’s have been vocalizing their disapproval of Canada’s high-speed rail project. And now, after Queen’s Park originally gave a thumbs-up for Alto to go ahead, it might be taking it back. Kristy Cameron chats with David Bellerive, the founder of Go Alto, in Hour 1. It’s an independent public advocacy campaign that was launched in May of this year to organize grassroots support for the project. Meantime, Ontario has also seen a wave of policy changes, with an expansion of privatized healthcare being one of those items on the agenda. Longtime CTV News anchor Lloyd Robertson has died at the age of 92, the network is reporting. Robertson died Tuesday night, according to his family, the network said. No cause of death was given. “A true giant. Canada has lost a broadcast legend,” said Lisa LaFlamme, his successor as CTV National News anchor, said on Instagram. “This truly is the end of an era.” Robertson retired in 2016, after a long career that began at a radio station in Stratford, Ont,, his hometown, in 1952.
