A woman who underwent mediation with the Ottawa Police Service in 2023 after having difficulty trying to report an historical sexual assault says the process left her feeling broken down and blamed, then placated and cast aside. Now police are engaging with her again, and she wonders if she can trust it.

The 68-year-old and 74-year-old men knew each other and New Brunswick RCMP said there was no threat to public safety following the incident.
