Update: Section of Scott Street to close for two weeks starting August 10

August 7, 2026
A section of Scott Street will close temporarily for two weeks, starting on Monday, August 10, for watermain repairs.

Scott Street will temporarily close to traffic for approximately two weeks, between Bayview Station Road and Parkdale Avenue, starting on Monday, August 10 at 7 am. The temporary closure will allow for the completion of watermain repair work that began in late July.

 Traffic impacts

  • Scott Street will be closed to traffic between Bayview Station Road and Parkdale Avenue. Traffic will be detoured via Bayview Station Road north, Burnside Avenue and Parkdale Avenue, in both directions.
  • Residents and businesses in the area will continue to have local access.

OC Transpo

  • OC Transpo bus stops 7332, 8045, 7334 and 7333 will be temporarily closed and detoured during the repairs. Buses will follow the detour outlined above.
  • Temporary bus stops will be added along the detour route.
  • Routes 12, 13, 57, 61 and 75 may experience delays due to the construction and detours.
  • For more information, visit octranspo.com.

Pedestrians and cyclists

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained in both directions throughout the construction period.
  • Cyclists will be detoured via Bayview Station Road north, Burnside Avenue and Parkdale Avenue. Cyclists can either walk the pedestrian route or follow the signed detour.

We recognize this closure may affect your trip and cause delays. If you’re travelling through the impacted areas, please allow for extra time. Signs will be in place to help guide you along the detour routes.

The safety of the public and construction workers remains our highest priority. Thank you for your patience while this work is underway. Please follow detour signs and posted speed limits when travelling through the area.
