During her first official stay in Quebec City, Governor General Louise Arbour sat down with CBC reporter Rachel Watts to discuss her new role and vision for the country. Arbour says she not only wants to connect with people in positions of power, but also with Canadians in their daily lives.

To qualify for higher income assistance in Nova Scotia, a home now needs running water and a sewer connection. The province filed the legislative amendment on Aug. 25 and it took effect the same day.
