48% of Canadians hold ‘unfavourable’ views of Americans, poll says

While most Americans say the U.S. should approach Canada as a valued partner or on friendly terms, 65 per cent of Canadians view the U.S. cautiously, or as a potential threat.

The meeting being arranged by the Quebec premier and CAQ leader for Monday night comes as Canada prepares to impose retaliatory tariffs on a wide range of U.S. goods the following day. The tariffs will range from 15 to 50 per cent and apply to products including dairy, steel, copper and some beauty products.
