There may be a glimmer of hope next year for consumers who are feeling the pinch from the heightened cost of living, according to a new report from CIBC.

The meeting comes as Canada prepares to impose retaliatory tariffs on a wide range of U.S. goods on Sept. 8 in response to President Donald Trump's own 50 per cent tariffs.
