42% drop in Vancouver housing starts prompts worry from development advocate

Housing starts in Vancouver are down 42 per cent compared with last July — a signal, according to a development advocate, that it's become too costly to build new homes.
According to the report, Calgary must build between 23,000 and 24,000 total new housing starts annually over the next 10 years to close the gap.
