Help keep our city clean this fall
School buses have started popping up around the city and ads for apple picking are showing up on your feed. That can only mean one thing – it’s nearly time for the fall Cleaning the Capital campaign! Registration for the fall campaign is now open. You can sign up today by visiting the Cleaning the Capital webpage. Registration is open until Friday, October 2.
The spring campaign had over 50,000 participants joining a record-breaking 1,094 registered cleanup projects! Every piece of litter removed helps protect local green spaces and waterways while creating cleaner, safer and more enjoyable public spaces for us all.
The fall campaign runs from Tuesday, September 15 to Thursday, October 15. Whether you're organizing a cleanup with colleagues, friends, family, or neighbours, there's a way for everyone to get involved. If you're a high school student looking to get your volunteer hours in early in the school year, this is also a great way to earn up to 12 community involvement hours.
You can register your own project by visiting the Cleaning the Capital webpage, or you can reach out to your community association to join an existing one. Cleanup kits, which include nitrile gloves and garbage bags, are available for pickup by registrants between September 4 and October 11 at participating City facilities. Together, we can help keep our parks, shorelines, roadsides and neighbourhoods clean and welcoming.
