N.L.'s head of prisons out of role after 'financial irregularities' discovered at largest correctional facility

The head of prisons in Newfoundland and Labrador is no longer in the role and the province has called in the auditor general amidst the discovery of "financial and administrative irregularities."

The extension means decisions on immigration and visa applications from residents of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and South Sudan will remain on hold until Sept. 28.
