Alberta premier to provide update on tariffs, Canada-U.S. trade war

As the Canada-U.S. trade war heats up, the Alberta government says Premier Danielle Smith will provide an update regarding tariffs after previously urging a more conciliatory approach in trade negotiations between Ottawa and Washington. Smith has been calling on the federal government to return to the negotiating table with the United States before Canadian tariffs on $27.6-billion worth of U.S. goods take effect in two weeks.
