Tofino, a massive beluga weighing more than 1,500 kilograms, has made history as the last captive whale in Canada to be plucked out of Marineland's waters.

The meeting comes as Canada prepares to impose retaliatory tariffs on a wide range of U.S. goods on Sept. 8 in response to President Donald Trump's own 50 per cent tariffs.
