Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. September 1st, 2026

September 1, 2026

OC Transpo rolled out its Fall Schedule this past weekend, with new Express routes and schedule adjustments designed to keep commuters moving. Just don’t ask the O-Train commuters how Monday went. Now, the City of Ottawa and OC Transpo are anticipating an additional 65,000 trips into Downtown Ottawa every week, as federal public servants spend more time in the office and post-secondary students begin their Fall Semester. Service on the train tracks is more frequent, even during off-peak hours. But we have been warned that September could be a ‘month out of hell’. Is our system up for the job? Kristy Cameron chats with Brooke Anderson, the Founder and President of Carleton Transit Riders. It’s a student advocacy group, and part of the Ottawa Transit Riders umbrella. Then, we bring in Westboro-based psychotherapist Benslyne Avril for this week’s edition of Self-Help Tuesday. As the students head back to the classroom, today’s chatter is all about helping your kids cope during a transitional season. Plus, as Canadian provinces keep American booze off the shelves, we find out how U.S. distillers have been faring.
