Residents who are still clearing items damaged by the storms are asked to be aware of these upcoming dates.

As recovery operations for the recent extreme weather begin to wind down, City services will soon begin to return to normal. Residents who are still clearing items damaged by the storms are asked to be aware of these upcoming dates. 

Special collections related to storm debris closing

Impacted residents have until Friday, September 4 to submit service requests. If you need to have storm-related waste collected by the City, please place waste by the curbside and submit a service request using the online form or by calling 3-1-1.

Storm-related waste disposal at Trail Waste Facility Landfill 

Tipping fees at Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be reinstated on Tuesday, September 8. The landfill, located at 4475 Trail Road, is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. 

Tree removal permits

Property owners do not need a permit to remove dead or hazardous trees on their private property where the tree is an immediate threat to public health and safety.

In wards 7, 8, 9 and 16, residents also have until Friday, September 4 to remove trees damaged in the August 12 storm without a permit, provided the tree is unlikely to survive. This permit application exemption applies only to applications that are not associated with development.

For those who have already applied for a removal permit within wards 7, 8, 9 and 16, the City will work with the applicant on the reimbursement process.
