Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. September 9th, 2026
By the end of September, more Canadian imports could receive a 50 percent levy from the Trump administration, while others could receive outright bans. It comes on the heels of Canada’s counter-tariff punch against the White House, which kicked into effect Tuesday morning. How much longer can we survive this painful uncertainty? How much longer are you willing to go? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, a researcher who worked at Anthropic and OpenAI says Artificial Intelligence could erase humanity as we know it, and sooner than we think. Jacob Coxon announced his resignation in a chilling and alarming post on X last night, criticizing both companies for the way they are developing Artificial Intelligence. He says that neither company is acting responsibly, and that the people building it ‘earnestly believe’ that it could ‘kill us all’ before the 2020’s wrap up. Joining us with his thoughts in Hour 3 is tech analyst Carmi Levy.
