Rex Heuermann's wife, Asa Ellerup, has filed for divorce after he was charged in the deaths of three women, known as the Gilgo Beach murders.

The deadline to file or withdraw a nomination for the Office of Mayor, City Councillor or School Board Trustee in the 2026 Municipal Elections is Friday, August 21, at 2 pm.

Nomination forms must be filed in person by the candidate or their agent at the City of Ottawa’s Elections Office (1221 Cyrville Road, Unit B).
