When the new NHL season begins in October, Hockey Night In Canada will live on. However, the Saturday night program has officially played its final shift on Channel 8. In a joint statement between Rogers Sportsnet and the CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster will no longer carry NHL games on Saturday nights, ending a tradition that has stood for 75 years.
