Candidates have begun registering for Ottawa’s Municipal Election, which is scheduled for late-October. Last Friday was the formal campaign kickoff – the first day where candidates could file their nomination papers. As of right now, we know that Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe is showcasing the intent to run, but his papers haven’t been filed yet. A passenger quarantined aboard the cruise ship MV Hondius due to an outbreak of the deadly hantavirus said in a moving social media message Monday that he just wants to “feel safe… and to get home.” Jake Rosemarin of Boston is one of 147 individuals on board.
