Last Friday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford made a province-wide announcement. Effective this September, you will be able to purchase beer and wine at your local cornerstores. The future of The Beer Store, meantime, is a lot more clouded. It appears that Ontario is going to buy its way out of the current deal, forking over $225 million in order to do so.
