Canada Day 2024 saw an increase in the number of parking tickets issued and arrests made across the city. There was also a spike in calls to the Ottawa Paramedic Service compared to last year, though officials say the number represented a "normal" call volume for the holiday. Read More

Team Poitras Relay, from the Saulteaux First Nation, is one of ten teams competing in the Indigenous Relay Racing at the Calgary Stampede. The sport is a fast and frantic display of horsemanship with a long history steeped in cultural significance. Much like an Olympic relay race, except instead of a team of runners taking turns, these races feature one rider who switches between three different horses.
