Man charged with attempted murder after Lethbridge woman bludgeoned in her sleep

A southern Alberta man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was bludgeoned in her sleep.Police in Lethbridge responded early Tuesday morning to a report that a man had broken into a home and attacked a 27-year-old woman who was asleep in her bedroom.They say the woman does not know the accused and are calling it a random act of violence.
