Ontario passes divisive bill to remove, block certain bike lanes

Ontario has passed a divisive piece of legislation that will prevent municipalities from adding certain new bike lanes and remove bike lanes on three main Toronto roads.The fast-tracked bill requires municipalities to ask the province for permission to install bike lanes when they would remove a lane of vehicle traffic.
The union representing Canada Post workers has filed an unfair labour practice complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board over the layoffs of striking employees.The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says the layoffs are an “intimidation tactic” that violates the Canada Labour Code.No details have been provided on the extent of the layoffs, which Canada Post has said are temporary.
