The Investigative Journalism Foundation (IJF) analyzed social media advertising over the last year to see who is echoing Poilievre's "axe the tax" mantra. Apart from politicians and political parties, the biggest spender is an outfit most Canadians have never heard of.
As Canadians take time off to celebrate the holidays, many federal offices, stores and businesses will be closed across the country on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Prime Minister Trudeau likely had high hopes that he could simply fire Chrystia Freeland and quickly slide Mark Carney in to replace her as finance minister. Carney has long been sought after by the Liberal party as its potential leader. That plan failed miserably, with Trudeau having to get close friend Dominic LeBlanc to be finance minister.
