At the Prime Minister’s riding office, in a large building facing the Metropolitan Highway in Montreal, someone removed the word “Honourable” from the French version of “The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau” – leaving an odd blank in the sign adorning the door.No one answered at the office on Monday, shortly after Mr. Trudeau announced outside his Rideau Cottage residence in Ottawa that he will resign as Prime Minister and Liberal Leader once his party determines a successor.
Manitoba’s Health Minister has ordered a review into the death this week of a middle-aged man who spent eight hours waiting for care at the emergency room of the province’s largest hospital, ultimately succumbing to his significantly worsening condition.Uzoma Asagwara, who also serves as Premier Wab Kinew’s deputy, said the tragic death at Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday has made it clear that the province needs to do more work to prevent such incidents from happening again.

The chief of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service is believed to have died after an early morning house fire.RCMP say they were called early Wednesday to a residence in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie that was confirmed as belonging to Chief Doug Palson.They say investigators found human remains in the home and that the identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed.
