An Indiana man seeking political asylum after being convicted for his role in the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot has been arrested by Canadian border agents while snowboarding in Whistler.Antony Vo, 32, was arrested without incident by the Canada Border Services Agency on Monday, the fourth anniversary of the Jan. 6 riot. The CBSA had found new information that the fugitive had entered the country and “may be inadmissible,” spokesperson Rebecca Purdy said in an e-mailed statement Thursday. He remains in detention with his next hearing on Jan. 15, according to his lawyer. The CBSA would not comment further on why Mr. Vo was not arrested weeks earlier when he made his asylum claim. But the agency noted it did not have any record of him entering the country through Saskatchewan, as he has stated, nor through any other official border crossings.
