Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. March 27th, 2025

March 27, 2025
We have reached the early stages of a Canadian Spring – where the weather is unpredictable and potentially downright nasty. A few years ago, ahead of the Easter Weekend, an ice storm caused a lot of problems for Canada’s Capital. This weekend, we could see more of the same chaos from Jack Frost, as 15 centimetres of snow and 5 to 15 millimetres of freezing rain is expected to fall. Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Doug Gillham, The Weather Network’s Forecast Centre Manager. Meantime, it’s Day 5 of the federal election campaign, and all of Canada’s party leaders are talking about the same thing. That would be U.S. President Donald Trump and his incoming auto tariffs. In the eyes of Liberal leader Mark Carney, America is no longer a reliable trading partner. CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent delivers the latest developments from the campaign trail.
